Winners Announced!

Thank you to everyone who contributed pictures to our "Where's your 'SP been?" contest. All of the pictures were wonderful! However, we did have to pick winners.

The best overall picture award goes to Holly Novasic, '11. The picture is artistically portrayed, shows the UWSP imprint, and Holly is participating in a service project in this picture.

The prettiest picture award goes to Kristina Lemanski, '10, for her picture taken on Byron Bay Australia in 2007.

The funniest picture goes to David Nevins, '88, for his astonishment that he landed at UWP, not UWSP.

Congratulations! And remember, the pictures will also be posted at the University Store and during the 50th anniversary party on Saturday, March 28th at 6:00pm.

And keep those pictures coming! We won't be giving out anymore prizes, but we'll still be posting your great pictures!

New 'SP entry from Alum...

David Nevins, '88, and his 'SP have traveled to a lot of places; Dickeyville's World Famous Grotto, the worlds biggest "M", but he can't believe he's landed at UW-Platteville! He's worn this same sweatshirt to all the UWP vs UWSP basketball games this year, and claims to have only gotten beaten up twice!

Tiny babies and Pointer gear, what a match for "Where's your 'SP been?"

Pictured here is Tina Attoe, '09, and her brand new niece and nephew, born March 2nd, at the Appleton Medical Center. Looks like your niece is a little camera shy, or is it just sick of pictures?

Congratulations Auntie Tina! and good luck in the contest.

Win Cash with the "Where's your 'SP been?" Contest

Spring Break is fast approaching, and the 50th anniversary of the University Center is right after that! Help celebrate both by telling us "Where's your 'SP been?" and win CASH!

Here's how it works. While you are on spring break in some fun or sunny location snapping pictures, take one of you wearing your UWSP clothing or with your UWSP water bottle or other gift item, and email it to me at spope@uwsp.edu with the subject line "My 'SP has been..." Be sure that we can see the UWSP imprint, and don't forget to tell me where the picture was taken, and what you were doing! Winners will receive $50 cash! Pictures must be appropriate for all ages - so, please no alcohol or nudity. All entries are due by Wednesday, March 25th at 4:00pm.

A sample picture is posted here, and a sample caption would be "Stephanie Pope '99 caught these two walleye while fishing on the Flambeau Flowage in Ladysmith WI in 2008". Check out earlier postings for other "Where's your 'SP been?" pictures.

The contest is open to all UWSP students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Pictures do not have to be of the current year, but do have to show a UWSP logo. I'll post the winning pictures on this blog, and at the University Store. Other "honorable mention" photo's will appear on this blog as well. So, if you don't want people to see your picture, don't send it!
