New segment...Where's your 'SP been?

Greetings! The picture here doesn't seem very much We 'heart' UWSP does it? Well I've been thinking about how to start a new "segment" for a long time now, and I've finally got the right picture (kind of) and the right forum for it.

I'm calling it "Where's your 'SP been?" Here's the idea - wear your UWSP gear, take a picture of you doing something in it (fishing up north, hiking in Alaska, biking in Italy, opening birthday presents at home, whatever), email me the photos at spope@uwsp.edu, and I'll post the best of them. Please also include a caption of where you are and what you are doing. I would prefer pictures with the UWSP showing, but I'm just too proud of this fish to not use this picture as my example. Oh yeah, and it should be a legal and all ages appropriate activity.

Here's my sample caption: "Stephanie Pope '99, caught this monster 45 inch musky on the Flambeau Flowage in Ladysmith WI; just up river from her cabin. Yup that's the canoe she used too."

So, Where has your 'SP been?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October is Breast Cancer awareness month. This month you will see little pink ribbons on all our advertisements to commemorate this month, and the importance of awareness, research and hopefully one day a cure. We also have in stock a number of books related to the topic of cancer, and breast cancer specifically. My favorite is the cancer cook book. I haven't yet had a chance to look closely, but it appears to be a healthy eating cook book that suggests foods that may lower your risk of cancer. There is also a childrens book to help you tell a child about Mommy's diagnosis. Check out our breast cancer awareness display by the cash wrap.
