Too tired for pictures today

Greetings all,
We've just finished our second day of the first weekend before classes start, aka Labor Day weekend. We were busy yesterday, but mostly just a steady kind of busy with only 650 people coming thru text rental. I hear we had closer to 800 on Wednesday. By Tuesday we should be thru all 8900 students on campus!

We've been busy store side as well with our great sales and promotions we are offering this week (see last post). In addition to sales we are offering punch cards and a University Store Discount club (open to all students, faculty and staff on campus). We've had a ton of people sign up for this club! What a great response!

Special thanks these two days to Aaron Leist and Nichole Rudie as the department heads keeping things together, people happy and the store running smoothly. Also, thanks to the hard work of all the weekend workers. These are the people that make the world of the University Store turn. So to May Yang, Liz Howard, Sondra Pace, Luke Nigon, Tasia Rose, Amanda Samson, Jeff Dahl, Laura Clabots, Ashley Price, Katie Artymiuk, Kate Beardmore, and Shawna Espich. Also, thanks to the TR employees Kassey Moscinski and Kaylei Sorenson and the full time employees who worked this weekend. Y'all did good work.

OMG! September 2 is almost here!

Sorry for the delay in posting. It's amazing how busy a person can get when they let themselves. This week in the University Store and Text Rental we are....FREAKING OUT! No, I'm kidding. We are all ready for students to be back on campus, and we're happy to see everyone. Late last week the hustle and bustle of the school year started already. We've seen atheletes already on campus, and we're excited for opening weekend next weekend. We'll be busy, but that's good. It means that everyone is getting ready for the school year.

What's really going on this week and next is back to school sales. We have some great sales going right now. 15% off non-imprinted gifts, imprinted folders, binders and notebooks, 10% off purple and gold sweatshirts, and non-imprinted school supplies, an extra 15% off clearance merchandise, 25% off bargain books, and of course 35% off the items of the week. Jackie B's last day

Jackie Becker is leaving us. That's right, she's graduated and is moving on to the "post-graduation" world! Her last day will be August 15th. Drop a line wishing her well before she leaves us!

Jackie was actually the first person I hired when I came to UWSP two years ago. She started at the University Store as a cashier, and I hired her as the Human Resources Coordinator. To be honest, I had never had a human resources person reporting to me before, nor did I have any idea, really, what the position was. I had an idea of what I wanted it to be in the future, and I thought Jackie would be the best fit for that based on our interview. Turns out that was at least one time I was right. Jackie did an excellent job of taking the job, and running with it. She was able to mold the position into what we both thought would be the best fit for the University Store and Text Rental. I continue to be very impressed with Jackie and her abilities.

Although I'm sad to see her go, I'm glad that she is moving on into the "real" world and hope that she learned a lot while working with us.
